"Thanks to the Kaua'i Music Festival and the various other music festivals and events like the E Kakou Kanikapila held here each year, Kaua'i is gaining a reputation as a center for musical creativity and excellence," said Jerry Brocklehurst, President, New Boomer Music. "After experiencing the magical performances of the artists at last year's concerts, I felt a calling to get this CD out there so others could experience it as well. And who better to help get it into wide distribution than Mountain Apple? They have been wonderful to work with." Tracks include a previously unreleased song by John Cruz, "How Deep We Are", along with live versions of favorites such as "Shine On", featuring the sweet harmonies of Sistah Robi and the bass-playing of Mike Odo. Other highlights in the jam-packed 1 hour of recordings include the beautiful lead vocal of Robi on her song "Makua", the wonderful blend of Kohala's 3 slack key guitars on their tracks, the energy of Eric Gilliom and Willie K on "O Tahiti", and the funny and engaging story- telling and interaction between Willie K and the audience on "Hula O Makee" and "You Ku'u Ipo". Closing out the CD is a great piano and vocal performance by Scott Krippayne who won the 2005 KMF songwriting contest with "Why Do We Do". "I was really impressed with the studio quality sound of these recordings," said Rich McSheehy, Founder and President of the Kauai Music Festival. "Many times, live recordings aren't as good as studio recordings, but the songs on this CD are outstanding." Sound clips can be previewed on the web at www.newboomermusic.com/kauai_live.php. The CD is now available at major stores throughout Hawaii or online at New Boomer Music.
